The settlement Železné is situated at the end of the Ľupčianska Valley (Ľupčianska dolina) at the altitude of 970 m, hidden below the peaks of the Low Tatras mountains. You can reach it by car from Partizánska Ľupča and from Liptovská Lužna going through the mountain saddle Prievalec.

Originally, there was a spa resort. Today there is a children sanatorium and a spring of mineral water.

The surroundings of the village Železného was “as if created” for easy walks to the woods with lots of game, mushrooms and wild fruits. It is not far by bike to get to the Ľupčianska Valley (Ľupčianska dolina) and a picturesque village Magurka, which is the village with the highest altitude in Slovakia. For able-bodied tourists we recommend hikes to the hills Salatín, Latiborská hoľa and Chabenec.

In the winter, there are excellent conditions for cross-country skiing. For those who prefer downhill skiing, it is not far to get to a very popular ski resort Donovaly, where they certainly will not miss anything related to skiing or snowboarding.
NOTE: This village administratively belongs to the town of Partizánska Ľupča.
